What happens in a session?
First, we turn on our brains and notice what helps us feel ready to learn. Then I model the reading skill, your child practices with support, and we try it in words, sentences, or a real text. We finish by noticing what grew.
What can we work on?
Letter sounds and sound awareness. Blending sounds into words. Decoding and spelling patterns. Reading accurately, then building fluency. Vocabulary, comprehension, and independent learning habits. Sessions are chosen around what the reader needs next.
Who is this for?
I work with pre-readers, beginning and emerging readers, children reading to learn, and advanced readers building deeper thinking. Coaching is available online, and in-person sessions are offered in New Orleans.
How is the Reading Library different?
Private coaching gives your child individualized teaching and feedback. The Reading Library offers recorded lessons and guided practice that families can revisit at their own pace. The two can work together, but neither requires the other.
